Delray Beach String Quartet

Delray Beach String QuartetAs you probably recall, The Florida Philharmonic Orchestra that had been built up by James Judd, went bankrupt two years ago. Two first violinists, Mei Mei Luo, from Shanghai, China and Lazlo Pap from Budapest, Hungary thought chamber music is the future. They enlisted Ian Maksin from St. Petersburg, Russia who was the principal cellist with the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas, and, hailing from Moscow, violist Dmitri Pogorelov, who has won several international awards.

We do 5 concerts a year at the Colony Hotel here in Delray Beach on Sundays at 4:00pm. Next year will be our third year and we are sold out for every concert (140 people only). The Palm Beach Post has called our quartet "World Class."

Our last concert this year is April 30th at 4:00pm. We are doing Boccherini's Quartet in E-flat, Bedrich Smetana's String Quartet #1, and Waltz in A by Dvorak.
